Welcome back to The Station, your central hub for all the fascinating ways in which people and packages are transported from Point A to Point B.

I'm delighted to be your guide once again, Rebecca Bellan at the helm.

This week, the talk of the town revolves around Elon Musk's momentous visit to China, a move that holds tremendous potential for strengthening Tesla's ties with the world's largest automobile market. This visit marks Musk's first since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, and his commitment to China comes as no surprise, considering the significant role China plays in Tesla's global sales. In fact, in the first quarter, over half of Tesla's deliveries were made in China.

Despite Twitter being banned in China, Musk has managed to become somewhat of a legend among the Chinese people, as reported by Rita. With over 2 million followers on Weibo, Musk shares his admiration for China, his opposition to disrupting supply chains, and his plans for expanding his business within the country.

On Weibo, Musk exclaimed, "The China space program is far more advanced than most people realize."

His persuasive words have earned him the nickname "Iron Man."

The details of Musk's visit to China are still unfolding, and we will keep you updated. So far, Musk's trip commenced with a dinner alongside Zeng Yuqun, chairman of CATL, one of the largest battery manufacturing companies. Recent discussions have hinted at a potential partnership between CATL and Tesla to develop more affordable batteries in the United States, although nothing has been confirmed yet.

Musk also made a stop at the Shanghai Gigafactory, where he met the dedicated team behind Tesla's immensely popular Model 3 and Model Y vehicles.

We eagerly await further news regarding Musk's endeavors in China. But for now, let's dive into the rest of our exciting updates!
